Hermitage Presbyterian Church
Hermitage Presbyterian Church
Thanks for checking us out. We're glad to have the chance to share what God is doing in and through our church.
What makes our church what it is?
Hermitage Church is best described as a family church.
We seek to celebrate all age groups with intergenerational worship and fellowship. In the words of a hymn we often sing,
We are the family of God Yes,
We are the family of God.
And he's brought us together to be one in him,
that we might bring light to the world.*

About Us
The congregation of Hermitage Church is composed of farmers and teachers, managers, professionals and laborers. We consider ourselves to be a family church, which seeks to worship, fellowship, learn, and serve intergenerationally.
We would love the opportunity to tell you a little bit more about who we are. Click the button below to learn more about how our Church came to be. We think you will find it interesting. We are proud of our History and humble beginnings.

Our Beliefs
In its confessions, the Presbyterian Church (In U.S.A.) expresses the faith of the Reformed tradition. There are five expressions of faith that we emphasize:
1.The sovereignty of God.
2. The people of God as a servant community;
3. Covenant life marked by a disciplined concern for order in the church according to the Word of God;
4. A faithful stewardship that shuns ostentation and seeks proper use of the gifts of God’s creation; and
5.The recognition of the human tendency to idolatry and tyranny, which calls the people of God to work for the transformation of society by seeking justice and living in obedience to the Word of God.

Contact Us
We would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or in-put. If you have a prayer request, let us know.
We want to get to know you if you are new here and want to get to know you better if you have been with us for years!
Communication with our Church Family and Friends is important to us. It is the way we are able to help each other in times of need or just on an everyday basis. We hope to hear from you soon!
Serving Others
Helping others is a big part of what we are as a Church Family. Some of our members work tirelessly to feed those in need at the Disciples' Kitchen in Waynesboro. Recently, we worked with other churches to provide a meal at the School District's Back-to-School Bash, which was intended to help children and families have a friendly, fun, and stress-free entry into the new school year (see below).
Sunday Worship
Come and worship with us!
We would love for you to join us
Come this Sunday and worship with us! We would love to have your company there as we lift our voices in praise. We are so very blessed for everything we have. Join us in thanking God for all that he has given. We look forward to having you join us this Sunday.
Giving
.. the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. 2 Cor. 9
You are welcome to leave contributions at the Church or place them in the offering plate on Sunday mornings. Thank you for your generosity!
Stewardship Information
The Qualified Charitable Distribution
Are you 70.5 years of age or older? Do you have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)? If you answered Yes to both questions, you are able to make a Qualified Charitable Deduction.
Individuals, 70.5 years or older must take the Required Minimum Distribution from their IRA every year and pay taxes on that amount. For example, a person who has an IRA distribution of $10,000.00 and is in the 22% tax bracket will pay $2200.00 in taxes on the distribution. However, if a person makes a Qualified Charitable Deduction to a tax-exempt organization such as a Church, then no tax is paid. Using the figures above, a church member who normally donates $7,800.00 annually to the Church could donate the $10,000.00 amount and increase giving by 22% without increasing his/her personal budget.
Ask your financial advisor about the Qualified Charitable Deduction.
Giving Forward
A will is one of the simplest things you can do to make a positive impact on the future. Including a gift to the church in your will can make a lasting difference in our church family and our community.
Giving can be an expression of your faith in God, your hope for the future, and your love for others. Consider a legacy gift to Hermitage Presbyterian Church. A legacy speaks not about how we died, but how we lived. It speaks about the things that move us in life, the things that matter to us. A legacy is an expression of gratitude and thanks to God for all that has been given and enjoyed in life. You should consult a lawyer to assist you in drafting your will and estate plan. You don’t have to be wealthy to bless the church with a gift in your will. Small amounts can be put to good use right away or invested so they grow in the years to come. With a bequest, you can strengthen your church family and make a difference for the future. Please consider making a gift that lets you live forward by giving forward.
